Pilar is currently a Fine Arts and Designs student with a Major in Advertising whose lifelong passion for comics was further sparked upon meeting the great
Gerry Alanguilan.
Mishap Realms features a depiction of the artist herself who has several Guardians (and a "soulmate"!) who represent various aspects of her personality to help guide her through the real world. It is filled with fantastic characters and delightful J-poppy videogame cameos (I spotted
Brave Fencer Musashi)!
Pilar is the first guest comic strip artist I've met in person, as she purchased a copy of
Callous - Chocolate Chip Wishes and Caffeine Dreams during the 2010 Metro Comic Con (you can read about my MCC experience in my
blog entry)! Since then, Pilar has given her thoughts on my little comic series in her
website and has gone through most, if not all of my comics online! She says she loves
Callous, and for that I am forever grateful!
Mishap Realms is approaching its 100th comic strip and then I believe it will be revamped. Keep an eye out for this one as it enters its new, exciting direction!
