Needless to say, today didn't start out like any other day. Just yesterday, I woke up and was surprised to find that I had lost my voice! Then, while in the long process of crawling toward being 100% awake (coffee was still brewing) my celphone rang! It was an unknown number and I contemplated for a few rings whether or not to answer it. After all, with no voice what could I do? But like many times I threw common sense out the window and answered the call anyway. I took a deep breath and mustered all my vocal strength to eke out a crackling whisper of, "Hello?" It turned out to be a representative from NBN4, a national television station here in the Philippines. She invited me to be featured on their show "She... Ka!" which was hosted by a couple of friends of mine, Issa Litton-Garrido and Monica Llamas. The program treats viewers to an
array of topics such as beauty, fashion, wellness, better home management,
arts and culture, advocacies, legal matters, where to go for a
great dining experience, and business know-how. I paused for a moment to contemplate whether to accept or not, considering I couldn't even speak! But when opportunity knocks, right? I had to struggle to get my voice to say, "Okay" then spent the day in utter silence hoping to save my voice for the shoot the next day. Thankfully, my voice did return somewhat this morning. At least enough to be intelligible. So I showed up a bit before call time and waited for my turn to be featured.

I was handed a paper with the talking points that would be brought up. I was impressed with the research team as it seemed that they found every trace of internet data on Callous that's out there. Apparently they even read all my blog posts! Once the interview got underway, Issa showed why she was a pro. She kept things energetic, even with my bore-o TV 'tude, and guided me through the aforementioned discussion points with ease.

That's right! Callous Comics on National TV!
In the end, it was definitely a great experience! My thanks to Issa, "She... Ka!", and everyone at NBN4! You can view more photos from the shoot at the Callous Comics Page on Facebook and tune in to NBN4 on February 1, 2011 at 8:30 AM (GMT +8) to watch the whole thing! See you then!
